Christmas Day 2008

After a busy few weeks leading up to this festive day, we decided to have a quiet Christmas Day this year and it was actually fantastic! We did pretty much nothing apart from barbeque breakfast/lunch. Slept and rest up most of the day. In the afternoon we decided to take a drive around town. It was dead, dead and dead on the road! Good for a change for this busy city I thought.

We drove to Kohimarama Beach.

Nothing much happened over this side of town so we headed to Franklin Road, Ponsonby to check out their infamous Christmas lights display.

To our surprise, there were hundreds of people around, like us, had nothing better to do on Christmas night, came out and strolled along this long stretched road with houses decorated with colourful fairy lights.

This one looked a bit Asian style with big lit lanterns.

Hawaiian Christmas

Guess this was the reason why Santa didn't come visit me... he was stucked on this fella's chimney!!!!!

This was probably one of the most impressive decorations in the hood.

Sailing amongst the stars. Very clever.

Shhh... think Santa is inside..

Reminded me of Star Trek don't you think?

Lonely reindeer in the big city, staring upon the darkened sky...

It took us about a good hour plus to walk up and down Franklin Road. The weather was nice, crowd were in a cheerful mood, everyone was happy. It was a great way to end this holly day.

Hope you all had a great Christmas Day too.
